Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon will embark on a visit to Kenya, Oman and Tanzania from July 19-26, his office said Thursday. He will be using the presidential aircraft.
Only twice has a Korean prime minister traveled abroad aboard the presidential airplane. The first was a visit to Japan in September 1999 by Kim Jong-pil, and the second a visit to China in April 2011 by Kim Hwang-sik.
A staffer at the Prime Minister's Office said President Moon Jae-in offered his plane to Lee.
