Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers has been included in the roster for next week's Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
Choo will be the third Korean to play in the All-Star Game after Park Chan-ho in 2001 and Kim Byung-hyun in 2002. The American and National leagues' all-star rosters comprise 32 players each.
Meanwhile, Choo extended his on-base streak to 46 games on Sunday, tying the club record.
Choo started as the leadoff designated hitter in the home game against the Detroit Tigers. He had two doubles in four at-bats, but was unable to prevent the Rangers from losing 7-2.
He tied the record set by Julio Franco in 1993. Franco played for the Samsung Lions in Korea in 2000, and is currently on the coaching staff of the Lotte Giants.
