Kim Jong-un Chats with Bolton in Singapore

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had a chance to talk with U.S. President Donald Trump's hawkish and abrasive security adviser John Bolton on Tuesday.

Bolton had been responsible for much of the aggressive rhetoric emanating from the White House ahead of the U.S.-North Korea summit, which evaporated like mist in the morning sun in Singapore.

It was Bolton's comments about the "Libyan model" of disarmament that in turn stoked North Korean rhetoric to a point where Trump at one point canceled the summit.

Kim and Bolton were caught on camera chatting after the day's working luncheon. They were milling about at the entrance of the Capella Hotel for about 10 minutes after Trump and Kim took a walk in the hotel grounds.

Bolton also sat across from Kim in a meeting in the morning and at the working lunch.

Right before the summit, U.S. media reported that Bolton had tried to scupper the summit by pushing ahead with demands for a total unconditional handover of all North Korea's weapons of mass destruction.
