The agreement signed by U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made no mention of formally ending the Korean War but instead focused on security guarantees for the North Korean regime.

But Trump told reporters after the summit, "Now we can have hope that [the war] will soon end and it soon will." Both South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Trump acknowledged that complete denuclearization will take a long time, and Trump said until then international sanctions will remain in place.

Trump and Kim took an unaccompanied stroll around the Capella Hotel on Sentosa island after their summit, just like Kim and Moon when they met in the border truce village of Panmunjom in April, but it only lasted about a minute since Kim seems to have little English.

The video of the stroll shows Trump doing most of the talking.

Trump then showed Kim his limousine parked in front of the hotel. A U.S. Secret Service agent opened the rear door of the Cadillac and Trump allowed Kim to take a look inside. He offered Kim a ride, whether in earnest or in jest or in his characteristic mixture of the two, but the North Korean leader declined.

A day earlier, Kim went on a late-night sightseeing tour of Singapore guided by Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.

In a remarkable departure from the norm, the North Korean state media quoted Kim as telling Balakrishnan, "I could get to know well about the potentials and development of Singapore's economy. I am going to learn a lot from the good knowledge and experience of Singapore in various fields in the future."
