Before U.S. President Donald Trump took to the podium in Singapore on Tuesday, his handlers screened a bizarre video clip in the style of a trailer for a straight-to-video action movie.

The clip, complete with thunderous voiceover and cheap special effects, portrays Trump and Kim as saviors of the world, and Trump apparently showed it to Kim on his iPad.

"Two men!" rumbles the voiceover artist. "Two leaders! One destiny!" A repeated caption appears saying "What if?" in English and Korean.

A video clip of a future North Korea is shown during a press conference after the summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the Capella Hotel in Singapore on Tuesday.

Crudely intercutting black-and-white footage from the confrontational past with color images of a brilliant, somewhat Singaporean high-rise future, the four-minute clip was apparently intended to persuade North Korea to join the capitalist world order.

Trump also made some suggestions for real-estate development to Kim. "As an example, they have great beaches," Trump told reporters. "You see that whenever they are exploding their cannons into the ocean. I said, boy, look at that view, wouldn't that make a great condo?"
