Park In-bee has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the women's world golf rankings after tying for second place at the Hugel-JTBC LA Open on Sunday.
The LPGA said Monday that Park reached the top of the rankings for the first time since October 2015 and the fourth time "in her record-setting LPGA Tour career."
Park spent a total of 92 weeks at No. 1 on three different occasions between 2013 and 2015. She wrapped up her last season early due to an injury, but is delivering strong performances this season with four top-three finishes in six events.
She won the Founders Cup in March, followed by second place at the ANA Inspiration and third at the Lotte Championships.
"It's good to be back, obviously, in the No. 1 spot," Park said. "That really wasn't my goal playing this year; it just came as a bonus. So it's great. The rankings are so close. It can change every week. It's just hard to keep track. I'm just trying to play golf and it doesn't matter where I am at."
