A senior U.S. diplomat arrived in South Korea on Sunday to hold talks with officials here ahead of their summits with North Korea.
During her three-day stay, Susan Thornton, acting assistant secretary for East Asian and Pacific affairs, will meet with Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha and Lee Do-hoon, South Korea's top nuclear negotiator.
They are expected to coordinate policies on North Korean denuclearization and establishing peace on the Peninsula.
They will also likely swap views on future measures against North Korea, as Pyongyang on Friday said it will cease nuclear and missile testing and shut down its nuclear test site in Pyunggye-ri.
