Another victim of Japan's heinous wartime sex crimes died on Friday. With her death, the number of registered survivors fell to just 29.
The Korean Council for Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan confirmed that Ahn Jeom-sun, who was forced to serve in military brothels for more than four years during World War II, died at the age of 90 in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
Ahn was one of the survivors who filed a lawsuit in 1993 seeking an official apology and compensation from the Japanese government.
