Yang Jiechi, China's state councilor for foreign affairs, arrived in Seoul on Thursday morning to brief South Korean officials on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's recent visit to Beijing.
The Chinese government also briefed the U.S. on the outcome of talks and Xi sent "a personal message" to U.S. President Donald Trump, the White House said Tuesday.
According to Cheong Wa Dae, National Security Council chief Chung Eui-yong will have talks and dinner with Yang on Thursday.
Yang is also expected to pay a call on President Moon Jae-in on Friday.
On March 12, Chung went on a similar mission to Beijing to brief Xi on his meeting with Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang.
