The Korea Football Association on Thursday unveiled the national team's uniforms for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia, which kicks off on June 14.
The home kit consists of a red jersey and black shorts, while the kit for away games features white shirts and shorts.
The home kit's main colors are the same as those used in the uniform worn by Korean footballers during the qualifying matches for the 1998 World Cup in France. Since then, the national squad has worn red shirts with either blue or white shorts.
Official sponsor Nike said the new kit represents the taegeukgi or national flag. "We take all three colors from the flag -- white from the flag's background, red from the yin-yang mark, and black from the corner trigrams," it said.
Korean footballers will debut their new outfits in a friendly against Northern Ireland on Saturday.
