Samsung held a launch event for its latest Galaxy S9 smartphone in Guangzhou, China on Tuesday.

Some 2,500 businessmen and reporters attended the event.

Koh Dong-jin, the head of the Samsung mobile division, said it will work closely with Chinese tech firms Alibaba, Baidu and Mobike to offer artificial intelligence-based products and other gadgets with the latest technology to meet the demand of Chinese customers.

With the release of the Galaxy S9, Samsung hopes to regain its declining market share there due to the strong presence of local handset makers like Huawi and Xiaomi.
