Korean-American golfer Michelle Wie won the HSBC Women's World Championship at the Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore on Sunday.

Wie claimed her first LPGA win in three years and eight months with a birdie from 11 m off the green.

The final round was a close one, with some eight players vying for the win. Korea's Jenny Shin had a one-stroke lead going into the 18th, but bogeyed the last hole. Wie's second shot on the final hole did not reach the green, but she holed a putt, pumping her fist in celebration.

Wie finished with a 17-under 271, one stroke ahead of Brooke Henderson, Danielle Kang, Jenny Shin and Nelly Korda. Her final round included seven birdies.

It was her fifth LPGA title and first since the U.S. Women's Open in 2014. "I wanted really badly to win," she said.
