U.S. President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka will not after all meet female North Korean defectors when she visits South Korea for the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
Ivanka had wanted to meet female defectors in their teens and 20s, according to a campaigner for human rights in the North. She was to visit a school for North Korean defectors in Seoul but canceled at the last minute.
U.S. officials said reports that Ivanka will meet defectors are "incorrect" and it would have been too difficult to schedule the meeting.
The campaigner said the school, which is subsidized by the government, "told the U.S. side that a meeting between students and Ivanka would be problematic."
