Two-Man Bobsleigh Team Achieves Korea's Best Olympic Result

    Korea's Seo Young-woo and Won Yun-jong placed sixth out of 30 teams in the men’s two-man bobsleigh at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang on Monday.

    They recorded an overall time of 3:17.40 in four runs. Although they failed to win a medal, it was the best Olympic result by a Korean bobsleigh team.

    Seo and Won will compete in the four-man event along with Jun Jung-lin and Kim Dong-hyun on Saturday and Sunday.

    The Korean women's curling team, ranked No. 8 in the world, beat Sweden 7-6 in their sixth match. The victory left Korea tied for first place with Sweden with five wins and one loss, and moving them closer to the semifinals.

    In the women's curling, 10 countries have preliminary round matches, and the top four teams advance to the semifinals. Korea has so far defeated No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Switzerland, No. 4 Britain and No. 5 Sweden, and only lost to No. 6 Japan.

    Min Yu-ra and Alexander Gamelin placed 16th in the ice dance short program with 61.22 points to qualify for the free skating on Tuesday, in which the top 20 teams perform.

    In the women's speed skating team pursuit, meanwhile, Korea failed to advance to the semifinals. Kim Bo-reum, Noh Seon-yeong and Park Ji-woo finished seventh with a time of 3:03.76.
