Golfer Ko Jin-young won the Women's Australian Open at a golf club in Adelaide on Sunday. It was her official LPGA debut and with the win, she became only the second player in LPGA history to win in her debut after Beverly Hanson of the U.S. at the Eastern Open in 1951.
Ko finished with a 14-under 274, three strokes ahead of her compatriot Choi Hye-jin with five birdies and two bogeys in the final round.
She is a rookie player on the LGPA, but she has already received some recognition here with 10 wins in KLPGA events.
She was able to qualify to compete at the LPGA after winning the KEB Hana Bank Championship last year, the only LPGA event held in Korea.
