North Korean athletes are likely to stay at the athletes' village in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, during the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
The organizing committee said Tuesday that North Korea wants its athletes and coaches to stay together, and they will probably stay at the athletes' village in Gangnueng as most of them compete in ice sports.
There are two athletes' villages for the Olympics -- one in Pyeongchang for snow sports and the other in nearby Gangneung for ice sports.
North Korea will send 22 athletes as well as 24 coaches and sports officials, who will participate in five disciplines. Sixteen of the 22 athletes will compete in figure skating, ice hockey, short track and speed skating, while the other six are alpine and cross-country skiers.
The North will dispatch a delegation to the South on Thursday to check accommodations, venues, stadiums, press centers and other details.
