Tennis player Chung Hyeon reached the third round of the Australian Open in Melbourne on Thursday. Chung, ranked No. 58 in the world, beat No. 53 Daniil Medvedev of Russia 3-0 in the second round of the men's singles.
Chung is the first Korean player ever to advance to the third round of the tournament. He also reached the third round at last year's French Open.
"I'm still on my path to becoming a professional. I will try harder, not being satisfied with this," Chung said.
He is said to have gone up a level since he won the Next Gen ATP Finals, the ATP World Tour's inaugural under-21 tournament, in November last year.
Chung will face world No. 4 Alexander Zverev of Germany on Saturday.
