Park Sung-hyun wrapped up one of the best-ever seasons by an LPGA rookie on Sunday.

With a joint 6th-place finish at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida, Park finished at 12-under 276, three strokes behind the winner, Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand, to share the honor of the Rolex Player of the Year award with her compatriot Ryu So-yeon.

Park and Ryu were tied in points for the award, making it the first time the LPGA Tour has seen co-winners since 1966. Park also topped the money list with US$2.34 million, becoming the only player to earn more than $2 million this season.

Her outstanding achievements made Park the second rookie, after Nancy Lopez in 1978, to win the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year, the Rolex Player of the Year and money title in a single season.

"I'm so happy for what I achieved... I feel I can give myself a pat on the back for finishing a great rookie season," Park said in an interview after the championship.

Meanwhile, the Vare Trophy, which is given to the player with the lowest scoring average, went to Lexi Thompson of the U.S., who also claimed a $1-million bonus for winning the season-long Race to the CME Globe, while Feng Shan Shan of China ended the season as the World No. 1.
