Seoul Named 21st 'Smartest City'

    Seoul has been named the 21st smartest city in the world by Swedish parking service provider EasyPark. Seoul scored 7.13 points out of 10.

    It compared 500 cities worldwide based on 19 factors including smartphone penetration, Internet speed, Wi-Fi hotspots, digitalization of government and waste disposal.

    Seoul came second in smartphone penetration behind Luxemburg, third in Wi-Fi hotspots and 11th in 4G LTE, but it scored lower for clean energy, environment protection and urban planning.

    Daejeon was the only other Korean city on the list at 63rd.

    Copenhagen topped the list with 8.24 points, followed by Singapore, Stockholm, Zurich, Boston and Tokyo. Germany had the most cities on the list with 10 including Berlin (13th), Hamburg (14th) and Munich (25th).
