Golfer Park Sung-hyun rose to No. 1 in the latest women's world rankings released on Monday, moving past compatriot Ryu So-yeon. Park ended Ryu's 19-week run atop the rankings.

Park became the first player to reach No. 1 in her debut year on the LPGA Tour since the rankings were created in 2006.

"I didn't expect to become world No. 1 this fast," Park said. "I need to improve in many areas compared to the great players, and still have a lot to learn."

Park could be the first player to sweep all the honors on the LPGA Tour while sitting atop the rankings if she performs well in the remaining two tournaments of the season.

She will enter the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in Florida on Nov. 16 after competing at the Blue Bay LPGA on Hainan Island, China, which will kick off on Thursday.

Park has already clinched the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year award and leads the money list. She has the second-best scoring average with 69.169 strokes, behind Lexi Thompson with 69.147. In the Player of the Year race, she is also second with 148 points, tailing Ryu (162 points).

Nancy Lopez is the only player in the LPGA's history to win all the four titles in the same season (1978).
