BMW is regaining its lead in the imported car market here thanks to a rebound in sales of its 5 Series.
The automaker sold 3,215 units of the 5 Series in September alone, surpassing the Mercedes-Benz E Class and leading the imported midsize sedan market.
Since its release in February this year, the 5 Series had only sold some 1,000 cars a month by July, while the E Class took over the midsize sedan market.
However, after releasing its 2018 model in September, BMW's 5 Series recorded its highest ever monthly sales with 3,215, well ahead of 2,816 for Mercedes-Benz's E Class. It was the first time in 15 months that the 5 Series outperformed the E Class in monthly sales.
