St. Louis Cardinals reliever Oh Seung-hwan returned to Korea on Wednesday after wrapping up his second Major League Baseball season.
Unlike his outstanding debut season, Oh suffered a sophomore jinx and expressed disappointment at a press conference at Incheon International Airport.
"I'm very grateful that a lot of fans and media came," he said. "It was a disappointing season for me as well as the team."
With this two-year contract with the Cardinals expired, Oh is now a free agent and all eyes are on his next move.
"I'm sure many of you are curious, but I'm not in a position to say much," he said. "I will discuss with the agent and consider all possibilities. Nothing has been decided yet, and we will make decisions while observing the situation."
