Hyundai's new high performance car has won the race in its first international circuit debut.

Hyundai said Tuesday the i30N TCR won the first race of the TCR International Series at Zhejiang last week.

The TCR International Series is held 10 times a year around the world and is a circuit race for mass-produced cars. There were two final races in this ninth event of the year, and Hyundai won one of them, beating 21 rivals such as Audi's RS3 LMS, Volkswagen's Golf GTI, and Honda's Civic Type R.

The i30N will be launched in Europe by the end of this year. Its 2-liter gasoline turbo GDi engine was modified for the race, and has a six-speed sequential gear, which gives it a maximum horsepower of 330.
