The government plans to offer various measures to stimulate domestic consumption during the full 10-day Chuseok break in early October.
The Finance Ministry said Tuesday the government will distribute reserves of a dozen kinds of produce to stabilize prices ahead of expected high demand during the holiday. Tolls on expressways will also be lifted and discounts will be offered on bullet trains for the convenience of travelers heading to their ancestral hometowns.
Admission to Seoul's major palaces will be free of charge, while museums and movie theaters will also offer big discounts.
