Another of the few remaining victims of sexual enslavement by the Japanese Army in World War II has died.
The victim, whose surname was given as Lee, died Wednesday at the age of 94. She was born in 1924 in Cheongjin, North Hamgyeong Province, now in North Korea. Lee was one of the tens of thousands of women forced to serve in military brothels during Japan's colonial rule of Korea.
With two survivors of the wartime atrocity dying this week alone, only 35 registered victims remain alive.
