Teen golfer Choi Hye-jin, who stole the spotlight after finishing second at the U.S. Women's Open last month, will turn pro with a huge sponsorship deal with Lotte.
Her contract will reportedly be bigger than the W500-million deal Kim Hyo-joo signed with Lotte when she turned pro in 2012. Kim's deal was regarded as the biggest-ever for a rookie at the time (US$1=W1,138).
On top of the huge basic endorsement deal, Choi will get bonuses if she achieves certain feats on tour.
Choi is set to ink the deal soon and make her professional debut at the Hanwha Finance Classic in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province starting Aug. 31.
