The Korea Football Association will bid to host the Asian Football Confederation Asian Cup in 2023. The football governing body made the decision in a meeting on Tuesday.
The host country will be determined at the AFC Congress in the first half of next year.
The Asian Cup is the second oldest continental football championship in the world launched in 1956. It is held every four years and includes 24 countries.
Korea last hosted the championship in 1960.
