Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday pitched his first scoreless start since returning from shoulder and elbow surgery.
In a home game against the San Francisco Giants on Sunday, Ryu threw 85 pitches over seven innings, giving up five hits, no runs, and posting seven strikeouts.
His previous scoreless outing was against the Los Angeles Angels in early August of 2014.
Despite his outstanding performance, the game against the Giants went down in the books as a no-decision for Ryu, who was replaced by a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh when the game was tied 0-0.
The Dodgers eventually won the closely fought game 3-2 in the 11th inning. Ryu's ERA fell from 4.17 to 3.83.
