Bilateral trade between Korea and China has increased for six consecutive months, notwithstanding China's unofficial boycott over the stationing of a U.S. Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense battery here.
According to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, exports to Korea's No. 1 trading partner increased uninterrupted between November and April, with memory chips, oil products and machinery leading the way. Chinese imports also increased.
KOTRA attributed the growth to an economic recovery in China, rising oil prices and a boom in the semiconductor industry, among other factors.
