Prosecutors on Monday questioned Chung Yoo-ra, the daughter of former president Park Geun-hye's longtime confidante Choi Soon-sil, who was recently extradited from Denmark.

Chung, who is notorious for her absenteeism at high school and Ewha Woman's University, arrived true to form 50 minutes late. She has been charged as an accomplice in wrangling illegal favors from Ewha and other offenses trading on Choi's connection to the president.

Asked by reporters what exactly she is accused of, Chung looked surprised and said, "I have not been informed about the details. I'm sorry," before scurrying into the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.

She had been detained for questioning as soon as she returned, but was released after a court refused an arrest warrant citing insufficient evidence of her involvement in her mother's crimes.

The general picture painted of Chung in the media has been that she is not very bright and became more apathetic the more her mother pushed to better her position, ending up as an unemployed single mother with no qualifications.

But prosecutors plan to seek another arrest warrant soon. Last week, they questioned the father of Chung's baby, the groom of her horse, which was allegedly bought with a massive "donation" from Samsung, and the nanny who cared for the baby while Chung was on the lam in Denmark.

On Monday, prosecutors grilled Chung about the W7.8 billion in alleged bribes from Samsung and the whereabouts of the money (US$1=W1,131).

Chung pleaded ignorance and told prosecutors that her mother was responsible for everything.
