The infant grandson of ex-President Park Geun-hye's crony Choi Soon-sil returns to Seoul on Wednesday after his mother was extradited from Denmark last week.

Chung Yoo-ra left the boy behind with his nanny as she returned to face charges relating to the massive corruption scandal surrounding Choi and Park.

Prosecutors plan to take the nanny in for questioning when she arrives at Incheon International Airport.

Last week, the Seoul Central District Court declined to issue an arrest warrant for Chung, who is suspected of being a major beneficiary of her mother's slush funds. Prosecutors said they plan to file for another warrant on fresh charges.

The first arrest warrant was sought over underhand favors Chung received from the prestigious Ewha Womans University but did not include charges that she benefited directly from W7.8 billion in donations her mother extorted from Samsung (US$1=W1,118).

      Chung has pleaded ignorance.

She was released from a remand prison last Saturday and now stays in a building in Gangnam owned by her mother. She is busy meeting her attorney and preparing her defense.

Asked by reporters if she misses her mother, Chung replied, "Of course I do" and added that she plans to visit Choi in jail.
