The remains of a victim found on May 13 in the stern of the salvaged ferry Sewol have been identified as Cho Eun-hwa, a junior at Danwon High School at the time of the accident.
The ship sank in April 2014 with more than 300 passengers on board, mostly youngsters on a field trip.
The victim was positively identified through DNA tests and dental records, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said Thursday.
Cho is the third victim among nine who have been listed as officially missing to be identified.
The National Forensic Service is conducting DNA tests of another set of remains discovered still wearing a life jacket on Monday.
An ID card found with the remains suggests they are those of an adult passenger named Lee Young-sook, who was not part of the ill-fated school trip.
The search continues.
