Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers got his 2,000th base hit on Tuesday.
Choo hit the second pitch by Rick Porcello, to the left fence, scoring the tying run against the Boston Red Sox. He wrapped the game with two hits in five at-bats and two RBIs.
Choo is the first Korean ever to achieve the feat. It took him 13 seasons to reach this milestone since his debut with the Seattle Mariners in 2005.
Choo became the 78th batter to reach that feat among those playing in the MLB. Hank Aaron is at the top of the all-time list with 6,856 total bases.
