Golfer Kim Si-woo poses with a woman on a flight to Atlanta on Monday.

Kim Si-woo made the headlines again with his frugal flight arrangements after he became the youngest person ever to win the Players' Championship on Sunday.

Golf.com on Monday reported that Kim was spotted sitting in the middle of the row in economy class on a flight to Atlanta, where he was due to transfer to his home in Dallas. A woman recognized him, took a photo and posted it on Facebook.

"You never know who you will sit next to on a flight to Atlanta. 2017 The Players Champion,” Jenna Dempsey Duggan wrote. The post was shared and retweeted over and over as it showed a young man who had just won US$1.89 million of prize money the day before.

But Kim said because he had to attend so many events as a winner, he had to delay his flight by one day and get a last-minute ticket. And because the flight to Atlanta only takes about an hour, he thought flying economy would not have much impact on his form.

"Odds are he won't be flying coach too much longer. Check out the photo below," wrote Golf.com.

Kim complained of muscle pain in his back during the Players' Championship, and will sit out the AT&T Byron Nelson, which kicks off on Thursday. After getting some rest, he will compete at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio on June 1.
