One in two jobs in Korea will be replaced by robots or artificial intelligence 10 years from now, according to a study released Monday by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
The study finds that 52 percent of jobs in Korea are at high risk of being automated in the next decade or more.
The prospects are bleakest in the transportation industry, where 81.3 percent can soon be replaced by robots or AI, followed by wholesale and retail (81.1 percent) and finance and insurance (78.9 percent).
But humans will still be needed in education, where only nine percent will be automated, health and welfare (12.2 percent) and science and technological services (18.7 percent), according to the study.
