Satellite images show suspicious activity at the Tongchang-ri missile launch site on the west coast of North Korea.
A new round of excavation work seems to have started, suggesting that the North is expanding the site, VOA reported Saturday.
The Tongchang-ri site was the launch pad for several space rockets the North launched to test intercontinental ballistic missile activity.
In images recently published by commercial satellite image provider Airbus, a patch of dirt measuring 60 m by 80 m seems to have been cleared west of the missile site. Airbus shot the images on April 22.
An existing missile assembly building stands right beside the cleared patch, which lies only about 200 m from the missile launch pad.
