Workers on Thursday found a school uniform of one of the passengers who are still officially missing in the 2014 ferry disaster.

They found the uniform by combing through the wreck of the Sewol that was recently towed to dry land. It was the first item belonging to a missing passenger found since the ship was raised.

The inside pocket of the shirt shows the Danwon High School emblem and name tag of Park Young-in.

The discovery has raised hopes of other belongings of missing passengers being found.

Workers also retrieved 28 other objects including three mobile phones and three bags.

The 6,800-ton ferry sank on April 16, 2014 off the southwest coast and took the lives of 304 people, mostly teenage students who were on a school trip.
