More and more men take leave to take care of their kids, a report released by the Ministry of Employment and Labor on Wednesday shows.
"As of March this year, 2,129 people out of 20,935 people, or 10.2 percent, who took childcare leave were men," said a ministry official. "This is a 3.7 percent increase from 6.5 percent in March last year, and the first time that the figure hit two digits."
By size of company, businesses with more than 300 employees had the highest number of men taking childcare leave with 1,264, followed by 281 who work for companies with 100 to 300 employees, 204 at companies with less than 100 employees and 381 at companies under 30 employees.
