A Danish court on Wednesday upheld a decision by prosecutors to extradite Chung Yoo-ra, the daughter of ex-President Park Geun-hye's crony Choi Soon-sil.

Chung's attorney vowed to appeal the ruling. A district court in Aalborg, northern Denmark, made the decision after Chung appealed a decision by local prosecutors to send her back to Korea. But Chung reportedly does not plan to seek political asylum in Denmark.

She was arrested there in January. Prosecutors here accuse her of being a main beneficiary of Park and her mother's extortion racket and gaining a place at the prestigious Ewha Womans University thanks to her connections.

Chung has described her mother's relationship with Park in a media interview. "My mother and father worked for her since I was a child. They just did work for her and did not use her," she claimed.

Chung declined to comment on Park's impeachment and denied any knowledge of the improprieties in her admission to the university. "I don't know anything about my admission to the school. I did not even go to the university entrance ceremony because of my child," she said.

Chung is a single mother and dressage rider, who was admitted to the university on a last-minute rule change for equestrians. She added, "I did not attend any lectures at Ewha and did not take any tests. I did not have any contact with any professors there."

The university has since canceled her admission and the university president has resigned.
