More and more people seem to enjoy golfing at indoor simulation ranges to avoid the hassle to visit golf courses on the outskirts of the city.
According to a book by the Yuwon Golf Foundation released on Tuesday based on a survey of some 6,765 people, Korea's golf-related market was estimated to be worth W11.45 trillion as of 2015, and playing golf indoors accounted for about 10 percent of the total with W1.20 trillion (US$1=W1,143).
The figure for playing golf outdoors was estimated to be worth W812.2 billion and the market for golf-related products was worth W4.30 trillion.
Among the respondent of the survey who regularly visit driving ranges or golf courses, nearly half of them were in their 40s and they said they play golf six to 10 times a year.
