The wage gap between workers in major conglomerates and small and mid-sized companies, and between regular and non-regular workers reached a new record in January, the Ministry of Employment and Labor said Thursday.
The wage gap between workers in big conglomerates and SMEs stood at W3.31 million in January (US$1=W1,118). Conglomerate staff earned W6.79 million a month on average, but workers in SMEs only W3.48 million.
The gap between regular and non-regular workers also increased to W2.76 million at W4.11 million versus just W1.53 million.
