Ki Sung-yueng of Swansea City looked in good form on Saturday as he made his first start after a long injury break.
The away match against AFC Bournemouth was Ki's first after missing six games due to a knee injury in January. Swansea lost the match 2-0, but Ki did all that was asked of him.
Ki will captain the national team when it plays China on Thursday in the first of Korea's two final-round Asian qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
He will shoulder an especially heavy burden as the team will be without ace Son Heung-min of Tottenham, who received two yellow cards in previous matches, and veteran defender Kwak Tae-hwi of FC Seoul, who was excluded from the roster due to injury.
