The Seoul Central District Court on Friday gave Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Kang Jung-ho a two-year suspended sentence for drunk driving.
In December last year, Kang hit a guardrail while driving his BMW after drinking with his friends in Seoul's Samseong-dong and fled the scene.
Kang has two prior convictions for drunk driving from August 2009 and May 2011. His driving license has now been revoked.
"Kang caused a third alcohol-related accident despite two earlier ones for which he was fined and fled the scene without taking proper measures," the court said. But it took into account the fact that he pleaded guilty and reached a settlement with victims.
