Kang Jung-ho of the Pittsburgh Pirates is unlikely to join the club's spring camp in time due to a trial on drunk driving charges here.
Pittsburgh general manager Neal Huntington on Friday said the team will help him as much as they can as he goes on trial in Korea.
The trial is scheduled for Feb. 22, and the Pirates' spring training begins later this week, so he is expected to miss the early sessions of training in Florida.
On Dec. 2 last year, Kang crashed into a guard rail near Samseong Subway Station in Seoul while driving under the influence and fled the scene.
