Korea had one of the three highest rates of inflation for grocery prices among OECD nations for the third month in a row in November.
Only in Mexico and Japan are food prices rising faster than in Korea, where the food inflation rate is 4.5 percent. Korea ranked second in October with a rate of 5 percent, and first in September with 5.6 percent.
The rise is mainly the result of higher costs for agricultural products following a scorching heat wave and drought last year.
