A first shipment of about 40 German Taurus long-range air-to-surface cruise missiles has arrived in Korea, a military source said Monday.

The missiles are capable of hitting buildings in Pyongyang with high purported accuracy from as far away as South Korea's Daejeon.

The missiles were delivered to a port in Busan and taken to an air base in Daegu the following day.

The Air Force will load them on its main F-15Ks fighter jets. The bunker-busters have a range of 500 km and a warhead weighing 480 kg and can supposedly penetrate reinforced concrete.

Some 170 are expected for delivery by next year, and military authorities plan to buy 90 more to deal with the mounting nuclear and missile threat from the North.
