Oh Seung-hwan of the St. Louis Cardinals has been nominated for an award given to the best relief pitchers in Major League Baseball.
The award also known as the Trevor Hoffman Award named after the former closer annually honors the best reliever.
"[Oh] stepped into the Cardinals' closer role in July and excelled right away. Oh struck out 103 batters in only 79 2/3 innings and converted 19 of his 23 save opportunities," MLB.com said.
Other nominees for the award include Addison Reed and Jeurys Familia of the New York Mets, A.J. Ramos of the Miami Marlins and Aroldis Chapman of the Chicago Cubs, Kenley Jansen of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Mark Melancon of the Washington Nationals and Tyler Thornburg of the Milwaukee Brewers.
The winner will be announced in late October just before the fourth game of this year's World Series.
