Suk Hyun-jun of Portuguese club FC Porto took up the last remaining spot on the Korean Olympic football team for the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in August.
Team manager Shin Tae-yong announced on Monday the roster of 18 players who will play in the Olympics.
The three wildcards, given to players who are over 24 years of age, are Suk, Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur and Jang Hyun-soo of Guangzhou R&F.
"I decided to select Suk after watching the friendly matches against Spain and the Czech Republic early this month," Shin said. "Suk displayed good form, not being outmatched by European players."
Jang, the only defender among the three wildcards, is a versatile defender who can play various positions on the field.
Hwang Hee-chan, a 20-year-old who plays for Austrian Red Bull Salzburg, is the youngest player on the squad.
Korean players will leave for Brazil on July 18 and be based in São Paulo. Korea is grouped with Fiji, Germany and Mexico. Only the top two in the group will advance to the quarterfinal.
