Korean Golfers Hit Rough Patch on LPGA Tour

Korean female golfers have long dominated the LPGA, but they have been struggling without a single win over the past month.

They seemed to be a dominant force, sweeping five games out of 11 competitions until early this season, but there was no more than that, after Jenny Shin's victory at the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout in Texas in early May.

Now some worry if they can get out of the slump and recover their form, ahead of the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in August.

World No. 3 Park In-bee's absence is obviously a big blow to the sport. She has taken one-month-long breaks twice this season already due to injuries.

Other Korean golfers in the upper rankings such as Chun In-gee, Jang Ha-na, Kim Sei-young, Ryu So-yeon and Amy Yang have also been struggling to recover from minor injuries or regain their form.

Meanwhile, Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn and Canada's Brooke Henderson are rising up in world rankings.
