A tally of ballots cast by Korean expats in the upcoming general elections shows a voter turnout of a paltry 3.2 percent.
According to the National Election Commission, overseas ballots were cast at 198 polling stations in 113 countries from March 30 until Monday.
Out of 154,217 overseas Koreans, only 63,797 turned up, resulting in a 41.4 percent turnout. But there are 1.98 million eligible voters abroad, so actual turnout was vanishingly small.
Votes at home are cast on April 13.
